We are looking for an A-team cabling and POS installation technician or group of technicians to join our growing team. We are looking for the tech/technicians to be in/around Newark and the surrounding Laurel, MD area as a highly utilized Contractor/W-2.

Responsible for installation of various types of cable plant including twisted pair, coaxial, stranded cable, solid conductor low voltage cable, single and multi-mode fiber optical cable. Installation includes placement, termination, grounding and bonding, testing, labeling and documentation.

Candidate will install, terminate, test, label and document horizontal, backbone & other cables (CAT5, CAT 5e, Cat 6, Fiber).

Candidate will be capable of installing cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, j-hooks, d-rings) Installations will include dressing and routing of cable into telecommunications closets, modular furniture and other work area outlets.

All work will be accomplished in accordance with ANSI/EIA/TIA standards and national electrical code as well as national and state environmental, health and safety policy.

Work may include reviewing potential job prospects and/or conducting site surveys and developing estimates.

Candidate will also install POS devices, wireless access points, IP and coaxial security cameras, camera housings, computers, motion detectors, switches and routers (already configured), and other network devices.

Candidate will be required to exert heavy physical effort at times including carrying of loads up and down stairs and ladders.

Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

This job will regularly require working from heights such as lifts, ladders, scaffolding and rooftops. Working environment may include exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals & solvents; mechanical, electrical and other hazards typical to a cable plant installation.

Lastly for W-2's we need technicians ready for overtime. Prepared for being on-call for weekends and holidays.

Experience in cable installation (CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, coax-RG6, RG59, and RG11). Analog Telephone knowledge is required (110 & 66 Blocks). Experience with conduit preferred.

Experience with many types of paging systems preferred.

Experience with single mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable preferred HS diploma or equivalent is required.

Candidate must be PC literate and should have experience in word processing and use of spreadsheet software packages. Must be proficient in the use of tools required for installation. Technician would be required to submit documentation while on site.

Excellent customer skills and focus and strong interpersonal skills Ability to lift 50 lbs or more. (Min req.)

Must have a clean and valid Driver’s License, Vehicle Registration and Proof of Insurance.

Home almost every night, but must have Ability to travel. This job entails a lot of travel. Whether it be regional or national. Must be authorized to work within the United States
